Two figures, separate yet standing so close, back to back, almost touching. A reoccuring theme in my work is the idea of the double figure, of two figures making one form. In dealing with this – one of the oldest themes in art history – I think Preus is right. Sometimes one millimetre is enough. The turn of a neck, a slight twist of a body can express so much more than a bold, sweeping gesture.
